Soft Shackles

These are ultralight biner replacements for those counting grams. Now available in 3 different styles. All have a 3 1/2" end to end inside measurement. Sold individually.

7/64" Light Duty - Made with 7/64" Amsteel Blue in various colors. These feature a simple stop knot that slightly derates the line's 1600 pound rating but are more than adequate for connecting hammock ridge lines, attaching items to your pack or other light duty tasks. Not for hammock suspension use. Weight - 4 grams each.

7/64" Standard Duty - Made with 7/64" Amsteel Blue in various colors. These feature a diamond knot for the stopper and thus carry the full 1600 pound weight rating. Weight - 4 grams each. The 'tails' of the diamond knot can be trimmed off after the shackle has been fully loaded a couple of times for further weight reduction.

1/8" Standard Duty - Made with 1/8" Amsteel Blue in black color only. These feature a diamond knot for the stopper and thus carry the full 2500 pound weight rating. Weight - 6 grams each. The 'tails' of the diamond knot can be trimmed off after the shackle has been fully loaded a couple of times for further weight reduction.

Maximum load carrying is achieved when the loop/stopper knot are oriented so that they are centered between the two opposing loads.

Not to be used for fall restraint, fall arrest or the replacement of climbing biners for actual climbing.
